All the elements are in place and tickets are still available for the Auction of Washington Wines - Roaring 20th Anniversary Celebration, August 16 – 18th. This annual auction weekend, which benefits uncompensated care at Children’s Hospital & Regional Medical Center and the Washington Wine Education Foundation, offers guests a range of activities in which to engage, including: the August 16th Picnic with the Winemakers and Barrel Auction on the grounds of Chateau Ste. Michelle (with tent for wet weather), August 17th Winemaker Dinners at exclusive venues throughout the region, Saturday morning Covey Run 10K Race and smartwater Family Fun 5K Run & Walk, and Saturday evening Gala Auction Peacock Ball at Chateau Ste. Michelle.
Come rain or shine, Picnic with the Winemakers offers a great introduction for new Auction guests and reunion of sorts for returning patrons, who attend to sample limited wine releases from a dozen of Washington’s top wine producers participating in the Barrel Auction: Boudreaux Cellars, Col Solare, Côte Bonneville, DeLille Cellars, Dunham Cellars, K Vintners, L’Ecole N°41, Long Shadows Vintners, Mark Ryan Winery, Matthews Estate, Northstar and VA Piano Vineyards. In addition, winemakers from across the state will pour their latest releases to pair with a gourmet picnic presented by Whole Foods Market and Seattle Culinary Academy. Picnic guests may also indulge in amusing lawn games, bid on amazing silent auction wine lots and experiences, and watch the Master Coopers of Seguin Moreau demonstrate the art of barrel making. Master of Ceremonies is Mark Wright, Anchor, Q13 Fox News at Ten, and The Casey MacGill & the Blue 4 Trio provide the tunes. Tickets are $125 per person. The Auction of Washington Wines is still accepting reservations for its other weekend events, so consult the AWW website for more information on the exclusive Winemaker Dinners and formal Gala Auction Peacock Ball.
